Observe With Love the Following

In dream You came in the world of my vision.
What is this game of hide and seek?

When I awoke, You fled to a lonely place.
What is this heartless sport?

In the sky, the gleaming stars.
In the heart, a flood of divine light.

Without You, the cobra has lost its jewel.
This separation I can no longer bear.

What is this game of hide and seek?
What is this fair of light and shade?
And what are these rainbow colors to charm the mind?

(a translation of a song my spiritual mentor made to speak about the longing of a devotee to merge... and it's the same longing a lover has for his/her inner Beloved on all levels).

It's the longing for the divine which will help us to merge with the divine, and the sense of separation will hurt all human beings at times even if they know they are not 2. Yet, it's the biggest lesson in life to really understand that we are indeed not 2.
It has been also the hardest lesson to endure for many beings over many life times... and yet, beneath it all, they felt union and know of the union and yet, when they can't feel it, they may feel impatient to the point of tears. No human being can ever give that what we really long for. As we know this, one must be patient with ourselves and others and develop an ever more loving heart, through the sense of surrender and true selfless and gentle "letting go."
