Motherhood 4 all

The essence of motherhood is not restricted to women who have given birth; it is a principle inherent in both women and men. It is an attitude of the mind. It is love--and that love is the very breath of life. No one would say, "I will breathe only when I am with my family and friends; I won't breathe in front of my enemies." Similarly, for those in whom motherhood has awakened, love and compassion for everyone are as much part of their being as breathing.

Anyone--woman or man--who has the courage to overcome the limitations of the mind can attain the state of universal motherhood. The love of awakened motherhood is a love and a compassion felt not only towards one's own children, but towards all people, animals, and plants, rocks and rivers--a love extended to all of nature, all beings. Indeed, to a woman in whom the state of true motherhood has awakened, all creatures are her children. This love, this motherhood, is Divine Love--and that is God.
~by Amma~

When the Day came -
The Day I had lived and died for -
The Day that is not in any calendar -
...Clouds heavy with love
Showered me with wild abundance.
Inside me, my soul was drenched.
Around me, even the desert grew green.

How to move beyond gender and truly love

By Mystic Francis D Griffin
It's sad that most men think that they need a beautiful woman to reflect an 'image' that causes their hearts to open to love. They are not even really seeing the woman as she 'Is', they are just seeing lights and colors. This is why men can fall in love with a picture... But true love is realizing 'who and what' makes you come alive. We are all 'the' source of true love, not another, or anything can produce love in your heart. You are the only source, and love is your natural state of being, just choose to love...

As a mystic, I go even further...
And I say, choose to Be 'In' Love,
and not just with images, but look deeper,
fall
in love with All Souls,
for everyone at their Core
is truly
beautiful...♥
--------------
Perhaps this goes both ways, as I have seen women being equally superficial.
To move beyond gender is BIG LOVE

we will see - perspectives on real love

Take into your heart all suffering.
Doing so is love.

the echo of what we created - returns

HOW? see here

let human beings do everything for the sake of all,
and let them also remember
that animals and birds are not distant from them,
and the flowers and trees also want to survive.

losing their way in darkness,
why do humans cry aloud in anguish?
let our hopes, our love
draw everyone close to one another.

those who are starving and uneducated,
bearing burnt foreheads from the fiery heat
take them all and give them shelter.
create a heaven on earth.
(Baba... Bengali Song translated)

come and dance

Ask yourself each of the following:
With respect to your (body)/(mind)/(spirit)/(practice)/(work)/(intimacy)/(finance)/(death)/(mind)/ is there any belief/feeling/expectation/fear/memory/habit/ that limits you?
Let this question resonate in your mind and let all thoughts and feelings come to the surface, all that you would have liked, disliked, wanted, wished and hoped, and all that you never wanted to come to pass in your life. Be there for you as you are now.

-experience your rejection of these states... fully
-experience your attraction to these states... with open heart
-let all thoughts naturally arise... and dissolve
-then allow it to neutralize, as all arising cancels each other out
-a (+) and a (-) makes a (0) (it can...)
-all tendencies and potentialities have a tendency to totally dissolve

Can one see that at once when you reject an experience you quickly almost simultaneously can become aware of your attraction to actually the same experience? When this happens the dissolution of the belief/feeling/expectation, etc. will follow naturally, as you do not choose either direction.

peace...

love everything
share the harmony
we are connected
and remain in union

the stream of Love
becoming creation
all together

Saying Mother, I know that you'll grieve

When she had twenty years she turned to her mother
Saying Mother, I know that you'll grieve
But I've given my soul to St John the gambler
Tomorrow comes time leave
For the hills cannot hold back my sorrow forever
And dead men lay deep 'round the door
The only salvation thats mine for the asking
So mother, think on me no more

Winter held high round the mountains breast
And the cold of a thousand snows
Lay heaped upon the forests leaf
But she dressed in calico
For a gambler likes his women fancy
Fancy she would be
And the fire of her longing would keep way the cold
And her dress was a sight to see

But the road was long beneath the feet
She followed her frozen breath
In search of a certain St John the gambler
Stumbling to her death
She heard his laughter right down from the mountains
And danced with her mothers tears
To a funeral drawn a calico
'neath the cross of twenty years

To a funeral drawn a calico
'neath the cross of twenty years

natural release

The natural release way is a direct pathway to harmonize opposing, or even conflicting ideas. This method of natural release is based on being able to access a level of consciousness which some call "the releasing mind." This releasing mind is a foundational level of consciousness that sits between conditioned and unconditioned mind. It is right at that point where suffering, conflict, misunderstanding arises and first emerges and the point they dissolve into emptiness. It all self-liberates so to speak. Often we experience the source of friction outside of ourselves but the real source is always within us. The minute we think in preferences of "I like this and not that and I want this and not that" we plant the seed of our suffering. It is always the choosing... still we have preferences and we do choose.
Imagine to be in such a flow that we do not need to make choices and are ok with all there is. Here we go...

Ask yourself each of the following:
With respect to your ...(body)/(mind)/(spirit)/(practice)/(work)/(intimacy)/(finance)/(death)/(mind)... is there any ... (belief)/(feeling)/(expectation)/(fear)/(memory)/(habit)/... that limits you?

Let this question resonate in your mind and let all thoughts and feelings come to the surface, all that you would have liked, wanted, wished and hoped for... and all that you never wanted to come to pass in your life. Be there for you as you are now.

-experience your rejection of these states... fully
-experience your attraction to these states... with open heart
-let all thoughts naturally arise
-then allow it to neutralize, as all arising cancels each other out
-a (+) and a (-) makes a (0), (right?)
-it all has a tendency dissolves into nothing

Can one see that at once when you reject an experience you quickly almost simultaneously can become aware of your attraction to actually the same experience? When this happens the dissolution of the belief/feeling/expectation, etc. will follow naturally, as you do not choose either direction.

timely

May all beings be filled with joy and peace.

May all beings everywhere,
The strong and the weak,
The great and the small,
The mean and the powerful,
The short and the long,
the subtle and the gross:

May all beings everywhere,
Seen and unseen,
Dwelling far off or nearby,
Being or waiting to become:
May all be filled with lasting joy.

Just as a mother with her own life Protects her child,
her only child,
from harm,
So within yourself let grow A boundless love for all creatures.
Let your love flow outward through the universe,
To its height, its depth, its broad extent,
A limitless love, without hatred or enmity.
Then as you stand or walk, Sit or lie down,
As long as you are awake,
Strive for this with a one-pointed mind;
Your life will bring heaven to earth.

Sutta Nipata
thank you Chris

Humanity is ONE - All Beings are ONE

how can this yearning for harmony ever stop?
the suffering of beings must come to an end
we must create a decent society
or we do not have one at all, says the wise
beings endured and endured because of us
but there is a limit to all patience
unrest spreads through all the worlds
and as the sun shines in the East
a new day will sure come to pass
the pain of beings will end in love
how can we further bear and witness all pain
we can do so much for the good of all life
all beings are not far from us at all
all beings want to live and be safe
it is our love which brings all beings close
the starving and forgotten people
those beings who die in the Summer heat
take all inside your cooling home
we will create a paradise
what we are is pure love
and our meaning of life as well
how can we forget this love?

another lovely easy song to play with

Take the High Way to the End of the Night
End of the Night, End of the Night
Take a Journey to the Bright Midnight
End of the Night End of the Night

Realms of Bliss, Realms of Light
Some are born to Sweet Delight [2x]
Some are born to the Endless Night
End of the Night, End of the Night [2x]

longing... but not lonely...

The sand was shimmering in the morning light
And dancing off the dunes so far away
The night held music so sweet, so long
And there we lay until the break of day

We woke that morning at the onward call
Our camels bridled up, our howdahs full
The sun was rising in the eastern sky
Just as we set out to the desert's cry

The tents grew smaller as we rode away
On earth that tells of many passing days
The months of peace and all the years of war
The lives of love and all the lives of fears

We crossed the river beds all etched in stone
And up the mighty mountains ever known
Beyond the valleys in the searing heat
Until we reached the caravanserai

What is this life that pulls me far away
What is that home where we cannot reside
What is that quest that pulls me onward
My heart is full when you are by my side
-----------------------------------------
keep moving
on the path to nowhere
to that which you have given
one can only smile - no matter what
with an overflowing heart
just love ... forever
keep moving through all time
we are always together
no pain troubles - even if pain comes
throughout all these moments - keep loving
witness your sweet smile inside
the hearts eye can see all smiles and tears
my friend, you are not unknown to me
you are my companion from past life
the beloved of the inner victory sun
empathic and sympathetic during all this pain
knowingly or unknowingly
we long to be one in all moments
this desire merges adrift into infinity

(R)Evolution....

Appropriate Revolutions

An appropriate revolution is one that is relevant to what is actually needed in the light of human and planetary evolution. It is not primarily political but rather informed by what the earth community is asking for. For example, the earth is not asking for more efficient and accessible healthcare. Rather, it is asking that humans live in such conscious intimacy with the earth that nearly all of humanity's diseases and injuries are prevented as a result of that relationship.

Likewise, the earth is not asking for renewable energy but a cellular level transformation of consciousness regarding how we live on the earth-how we eat, what we wear, the products we use, where we live, where we travel and how.

The earth is not asking for jobs, but rather a painfully honest examination of our purpose in walking on her body in terms of the work that is most beneficial for her and all species that inhabit the planet.

The earth is asking, no pleading, for inhabitants who are willing and eager to live and relate locally in small communities, cooperating with neighbors to replenish what has been stolen from the earth and to enhance the well being of all species.

In his essay, "A Revolution That Is Arising From The Earth", William Kotke states:

We who can read these words are civilized people who have been mentally conditioned by the culture of civilization and the industrial society from birth. We have precepts loaded into our subconscious minds which cause us to see reality in a certain way. To a native Maya person in the State of Chiapas, Mexico, the earth speaks through them. They live integrated with the earth in their everyday energy systems and in their mental attitudes. To them the fact that the earthlife has manifest these living things around us, and us, means that we are children of the Mother Earth and we speak as one of the voices of the earth. To the Maya this is obvious on a deep level. To us it is an interesting intellectual proposition only, because we have been conditioned by a cultural upbringing that filters out this deep understanding and we do not mentally link our life with the life of the living earth.

To the Maya security is the earth and its care. The Maya live with the earth and feed from its natural bounty. Historically for a million years our species has been very successful. We have been adapted to the earth life. We lived within the ecological web and energy flows of the earth. Our traditional migratory patterns carried us over our gathering areas. In the season when the game were fat in one place we went there, when the berries were ripe in another we went there. Our success was adaptation to the life of the earth. We also had a culture that respected the earth and living things. The proposition is simple. We are alive, we live because of the other living things which feed us, we are obligated to respect and encourage those other living things so that we too can live.

In order for these indicators of an appropriate revolution to be actualized, a new kind of human must emerge-a new species with conscious self-awareness that knows-not thinks or feels-that it is not "in harmony" with the earth, but that it is the earth. This knowledge can only be acquired if our species is willing to experience, not theorize, that it originated from something greater and emerged on this planet for the purpose of serving something greater in order to perpetuate its values throughout the earth community and for countless generations in the future.

2 ballad songs, found again to practice... and I don't change either then...

needs to be sung a lot faster... with guitar... we did this with a lot more melody ... my friends and me... this is the only copy... guess it is meant 2 for theatrical purposes. It is the ballad of the poor child... or who laughs last, laughs best. There is need to go to ones own culture.... sometimes...

Das Lied vom armen Kind oder...Wer zuletzt lacht, lacht am besten.

Es war einmal ein armes Kind,
Das war auf beiden Augen blind,
Auf beiden Augen blind;
Da kam ein alter Mann daher,
Der hört auf keinem Ohre mehr,
Auf keinem Ohre mehr.
Sie zogen miteinander dann,
Das blinde Kind, der taube Mann,
Der arme, alte, taube Mann.

So zogen sie vor eine Tür,
Da kroch ein lahmes Weib herfür,
Ein lahmes Weib herfür.
Bei einem Automobilunglück
Ließ sie ihr linkes Bein zurück,
Das ganze Bein zurück.
Nun zogen weiter alle drei,
Das Kind, der Mann, das Weib dabei,
Das arme, lahme Weib dabei.

Ein Mägdlein zählte vierzig Jahr,
Derweil sie stets noch Jungfrau war,
Noch keusche Jungfrau war.
Um sie dafür zu strafen hart,
Schuf Gott ihr einen Knebelbart,
Ihr einen Knebelbart.
Sie flehte: Laßt mich mit euch gehn,
Ihr Lieben, laßt mich mit euch gehn,
So wird noch Heil an mir geschehn!

Am Wege lag ein räudiger Hund,
Der hatte keinen Zahn im Mund,
Nicht einen Zahn im Mund;
Fand er mal einen Knochen auch,
Er bracht’ ihn nicht in seinen Bauch,
Ihn nicht in seinen Bauch.
Nun trabte hinter den anderen vier,
Wiewohl es am Verenden schier,
Das alte, räudige Hundetier.

Ein Dichter lebt’ in tiefster Not,

Nachdem sie ganz Europa sah,
Da reisten sie nach Amerika,
Nach Nord- und Südamerika.

Nun hört zum Schluß noch die Moral:
Gebrechen sind oft sehr fatal,
Sind manchmal eine Qual;
Frau Poesie schafft ohne Graus
Beneidenswertes Glück daraus,
Sie schafft das Glück daraus.
Dann schwillt der Mut, dann schwillt der Bauch,
Und sei’s bei einer Jungfrau auch. –

nicht in Hoffnung, sondern Not
Wie werden ihre Kinder sein?
bloß Krüppel, oder tot?
Der Erzbischof von Mailand treibt
mit ihnen seinen Spott:
"Die Krüppel macht euch nicht La Roche
die Krüppel schenkt euch Gott"
Das ist der Trost für Seveso
und Gott ist weit entfernt
Der Bischof betet für Seveso
der hat ja sonst nichts gelernt.

In Zürich, der Boß von Hoffmann-La-Roche
gewährt ein Interview
Er sagt: Was soll denn das Geschrei
wegen einer toten Kuh?
Paar Hektar kaputt, paar Menschen krank

Almost thirty years it is old, the "Ballad of Seveso. It is typical for Walter Moßmann leaflet songs, and it was sung, where they demonstrated against nuclear power plants. Some things have changed since then, the dangers that also involves the peaceful use of nuclear power, have now reached public awareness. But the song has lost none of its relevance. For still more than ever, industry is willing to share health and lives of people in favor of their profits to safely risk. The reaching of todays bad press... is agitation and propaganda, in short "agitprop" has, in common parlance a negative tone. Moßmann the persistent refrain is countered, "What we have learned?" That we should learn from the self-inflicted disasters is that we need to be active, has been a humanist claim whose permission shall not be questioned in a turnaround time when even socialists democratic principles such as equality or social responsibility are diminished. The "Ballad of Seveso" is still young, not only for its clever construction, the compelling logic of her verse sequence, but also because the tune of Phil Ochs, the Moßmann borrowed, has a catchy tune that seems perfect for the text whose musical gesture clings to the argument. The "Ballad of Seveso" is located in the recent package of four CDs that contain important Moßmann songs and larger works. Moßmann can sing no more because of laryngeal disease for some time. But the technical medium of CD preserves the memory of one of the major German singer, who has helped shape others as persons, and with his songs shaped the history of resistance against the status quo. Moßmann songs share is a measure that is rarely achieved today. You have to know it at least. Therefore, I recommend Walter Moßmann "Ballad of Seveso. Dr. T. heart love does not owe and it does owe

love flows free
lies hidden everywhere
in the heart of all
love resides free
hiding sometimes
we may look outside
we never find it
we never do

one and two together
we see it everywhere
attain love
in devotion
and in inferences
may love become true
heal all loss
create true harmony
oh love, please do!

may true friends find and hold the longing heart into peace...
can we see our own cruelty when we stop ourselves from simple little love?

loving just THIS

Peter: Ultimately no. The nondual traditions take us to the end of what’s possible in terms of human freedom and liberation. They take us to a point where we rest in nondual awareness. This is a space where suffering is no longer possible. This space is unconditioned, to the point where we can’t even say there’s no suffering! The idea of suffering doesn’t have any reference point at all. In this sense there is nowhere further to go. Nothing more is possible in terms of the momentary evolution of our consciousness. I think that ultimately all therapies must lead to that same point. Otherwise there is still a gap, there is still a potential for suffering to arise. And so there is still a role for therapy. All therapy, if it’s to take people the full distance, must become nondual.

Stephen: I am a psychotherapist and I’ve been engaged in Buddhist practices for many years but I’m not able to bring my clients, even myself, to nondual awareness. What’s needed for a therapist to do that?

Peter: Well first a therapist needs to have reliable access to centerless awareness by seeing that unstructured awareness is our primordial state. In this state there’s no inside or outside, no therapist as a distinct identity. From within this state bridges are built, mainly through types of inquiry that dissolve fixations, and silence that allows the mind to still as well. The bridges we build in our conversations allow clients to move from being preoccupied with themselves, through to the ground of being itself. This is called nondual inquiry. It unfolds in a really precise way but without any agency.

Stephen: So, I’m wondering if you have a story that illustrates the relationship between nondualism and suffering, perhaps from your own life?

Peter: Yes. Two years ago I had major back surgery using a relatively new procedure that has risks associated with it. Going into the operation I thought, "All I need to take away from this operation is that I am conscious," because in the nondual traditions awareness itself is said to be the ultimate medicine, the ultimate healer. In this sense the only thing we need in order to be fully satisfied and complete is to be aware. All other conditions in our lives can change, but we can still be whole, integrated and complete. So, I thought ultimately what I need when I come out of this operation is to be aware. So, as long as I am aware, I have enough.

When I came out of the operation five hours later, it was a beautiful experience. The first thing I thought as I regained consciousness was, “Wow, I am aware, that is wonderful. Ah, everything from here is a bonus for me. I can see, and I can hear, this is really wonderful." Then I started to see if I could move, "Yes, I can move my shoulders and my hands. How wonderful to have my hands". Then I tried moving my left leg, “Yes this is really great.” Then I tried moving my right leg, and it didn’t move, and I thought, “Ah, but still, I’ve got two arms and one leg and I’m aware. This is so wonderful.” And after a few minutes I could wiggle my right toes. Wow.

This type of experience can provide a beautiful point of reference because we can see that we don’t need to get so involved in the conditions of our lives in order to be fulfilled. We think that we can’t be complete because we don’t have enough money, because we have problems with our body, or our relationships aren’t working. But ultimately it’s possible to be complete and fulfilled moment by moment with everything exactly as it is.

Stephen: It sounds like gratitude is a big part of your experience?

Peter: Yes, pure gratitude, thanking the universe for everything, exactly as it is.

Stephen: Can you say something about the growing number of western therapist who are working in this way?

Peter: There is a surge of interest in this area and a growing number of therapists and coaches who are able to introduce their clients to the nondual awareness and use this as a resource for integration and wellbeing. There are thousands of therapists and coaches who have extensive first-hand experience with Buddhist and Hindu forms of nondual spirituality, for 20, 30, even 40 years. They naturally bring all the wisdom they’ve achieved to their work with clients. Also, many clients have received nondual teachings. They often seek out therapists who are familiar with the nondual. Also, there are now programs that specifically training people in nondual therapy. This form of therapy is just in its infancy in the West, but it is destined to grow and make a major contribution.

Stephen: Is there any caution or danger in working in this way?

Peter: People have a tendency to formalize things, so there’s a danger that people could relate to nondual therapy as a skill-set. Therapists might try to activate a recognition of nondual awareness in their clients using some techniques they’ve learnt. Nondual awareness isn’t an altered state of consciousness. It isn’t anything at all. If therapists think they’re “doing” something, or even “looking” for any change, it’s no longer nondual therapy.

Stephen: How do we learn more about nonduality and psychotherapy?

Peter: Well, the Science and Nonduality Conference is a good starting point. Then there’s the Institute for Nondual Wisdom and Psychotherapy. And I have my own 10 month training in Nondual Teaching and Therapy.

US author, social commentator and activist, Barbara Ehrenreich, likes to tell it as it is. In this secular sermon she calls for a new commitment to realism. Far from making us happier, she argues that undue optimism and a fear of giving bad news sowed the seeds for the banking crisis – and that an insistence on being cheerful actually leads toward a lonely focus inwards and to political apathy.
